Islamic Glass Art

Welcome to the online gallery of my hobby! While I have made other pieces, my passion is Islamic Art. I pull inspiration from everywhere, but design the final pieces all myself....

Please contact me at adeela@gmail.com for more information on any of the items shown here or a custom piece based on your specifications. I can design anything that matches, or takes inspiration from, these pieces or something completely new. The sky is the limit, whatever your decor or taste desires! I will ask you to select the size, colors, border design, phrasing, calligraphy style and frame.....this is truly custom art!

I have sold most of the pieces I have made. All work will now be custom-made for your taste. An 8x10 or 12x14 piece will take approximately 1 month from initial concept to delivery. Larger pieces will require more time.

Diamonds

Opaque white glass with a milky beige accent sets off the brilliant red translucent writing of "Allahu Akbar"-"God is the Greatest". A border of pink diamonds and red triangles is accented by white circles. A beautiful piece against a wall or with light shining through.

The original of this piece is not available.

Checkerboard

Opaque beige glass with white marbling provides a cool accent to a blend of blues. The lettering of deep sapphire blue translucent glass is contrasted by opaque teal squares in the frame. Small rectangular mirrors provide a delightful accent against the message "Masha Allah"-"That Which God Wills". The colors are magnificent against a wall, but practically pop against a window.

Onyx

Black glass...even as a concept it is unusual. Glass by its nature has translucency, but this black glass is reflective instead. The beauty of the material overtakes this piece, but the stark color contrasts of translucent red and opaque yellow complete it. "Allahu Wahda"-"God is One" and this piece is one.

Purple

A combination of translucent purple glass marbled with opaque soft gray glass and mirrors...a strong contrast against each other, or is it? "Insha Allah"-"If God Wills" seems almost blue with light shining through. And what was once so opposite now blends gracefully.

Frame Within a Frame

An oval inside of a Rectangle. Mix it up a little. Create a smooth combination of colors, soothing to the eyes but invoking the senses. And why not for a piece that celebrates the core of our faith? "Allah, Muhammad"-Glorious God and His faithful messenger. A star and converging mirror wedges further direct your sight to the message.

Size: 14" x 17"
Wood Frame, hangs from a zinc chain.

Turquoise

A classic partnership in Islamic art: shades of blue and shades of white. The addition of mirror separates the frame from the artwork. Small touches, playing with the solder edges, make this piece even more unique. A small word meaning so much, "Bismillah"-"In the Name of God". Beautiful with or without light shining through.

Size: 14" x 12"
Zinc border, hangs from a zinc chain.

Block Script

"Ya Allah!"-"Oh God!" reflects our most basic call. And so I chose mirror to reflect the statement. Contrasted against purple and lavender to bring out the mirror and design. A block script instead, trying a new method. The photo appears blue, but the piece is indeed purple.

Size: 14" x 12"
Zinc Frame, hangs from a zinc chain.

Crescents

The color scheme and Crescent 'logo' of Islam softens the balance against the crispness of black and white. The largest piece of Islamic art yet and how fitting to start a new size with this phrase. "Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem" - "I begin in the same of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate".

This piece has been sold.

Color Series

A series of pieces with the same phrasing illustrate the dramatic effect of color and artwork. All say "Jazak Allah" - "May Allah Reward" which is a very heartwarming way of saying Thanks. This series was commissioned by an organization wishing to convey this exact sentiment!

The originals of these pieces are not available for sale.
